- Timely payment to service providers (within 30 days).
- Effective utilisation of municipal capital grants (99.2% spending).
- Clean audit outcome with proactive improvement areas identified.

- A range of municipalities were recognised for clean governance and strong financial management practices, with several officials and councillors in attendance, including Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and MEC for Finance and Economic Development Lebogang Maile — underlining the importance placed on municipal accountability.
- Emfuleni Local Municipality also received recognition as a third runner-up award at the SALGA Municipal Audit Awards, specifically for reducing Unauthorised, Irregular, Fruitless, and Wasteful Expenditure (UIFW) by 44%, reflecting progress towards better financial accountability and service delivery.
